HELLO!

I’M LINDSAY,

*AKA LIN*

I seek connection, relationships, laughs, the real you & real me, the authentic, and unapologetic.

I began my photography journey about 14 years ago after I bought my first camera on a whim. I had a lot of encouragement from my husband’s brother, Tim, who was an excellent photographer and artist himself. He encouraged me to get out there and take photos of literally anything and everything and that encouragement helped me get better at using my camera and ultimately I found myself taking family portraits, maternity portraits, engagement portraits, and even photos of my husband’s band! Tim passed away a few years ago, but I know he’d be so proud of me for jumping into this head first. Fun fact, Tim changed the "u" in Butcher to a "v" in his name on Instagram, his brothers followed suit, and when my husband and I got married, I did too and it's stuck ever since.

Long story short, I really take pride in the drive and effort I've put into getting to where I am now. Throughout this journey, I've discovered, more than anything, I love the raw moments. I love creating images and art that evoke emotion and tell a story thats real, unfiltered, and raw.

I'm so excited to see where this journey in art takes me. I hope you'll come along for the ride!

These days you'll find me...

Recently, I began a project titled Wild Runs Deep — a portrait series featuring womxn and their horses. It’s a deeply personal body of work centered around connection, discipline, identity, and the quiet devotion that lives underneath the surface. It’s going to be incredibly rewarding, and I’m loving the relationships and stories already unfolding through it.

These days you’ll still find me posting way too many pictures of my cat, Penny, eating an unhinged amount of cheese, and going on adventures with my handsome husband, John. Speaking of John, he’s had a love for old-time country music since before we met, which inevitably rubbed off on me — so here I am, knee-deep in my own love of Merle Haggard and George Jones. Don’t get me wrong though, I still have a deep-rooted love for all things folk and singer-songwriter. My one true love, however, is everything 70s. Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young — to name a few — are among the great musical loves of my life… and there are plenty more, but I digress.

As we prepare for our upcoming move to the quaint countryside town of Warwick in upstate New York, I’m feeling especially inspired by slower mornings, open land, and the kind of stories that are rooted in place. It feels like the perfect setting for this next chapter — both personally and creatively.

I have an unhealthy but exceptional love for vintage decor — particularly lighting. I currently have five vintage lamps (and counting) crammed into our cute one-bedroom apartment. I love Native American jewelry and have a deep respect for the culture. I love horror novels and movies, but can absolutely get down on a good rom-com when the mood strikes.

The best part about photography — and why I love it — is that I can take it anywhere. Concerts, countryside barns, quiet moments at home, long drives, fleeting light. I can grab my camera and capture something that would otherwise pass by unnoticed.

I hope I can do the same for you.

Let’s make memories, art, and most of all — let’s have fun doing it.
