What This Project Is

Wild Runs Deep is an ongoing portrait series exploring instinct, identity, and the quiet wildness we carry beneath the surface.

This isn’t about being "camera ready" or showing up as a version of yourself that feels performative . Its about capturing you as you are - grounded, real, and fully present. Of course, you should show up in whatever way you feel most comfortable. If that means a full glam day and new outfit leading up to your shoot, go for it!

This is not a commercial shoot. It's art, storytelling, and portraiture with intention.

What To Expect

This session will feel more like an experience than a photoshoot.

I'll guide you through the session with light direction so you never feel awkward or stuck wondering what to do - but I'll also leave space for natural movement and real moments.

Expect a mix of:

• Softly directed portraits
• Natural interaction + movement
• Quiet moments / in between moments
• A "documentary feel," without chaos

If you’re nervous, that's normal. You don't need to know how to pose - that's my job.

What To Bring

Bring whatever feels natural to your everyday routine with your horse.

• Your horse + any tack you'd like included
• Grooming supplies (brushes, fly spray, etc)
• A jacket, hat, or extra layer if you want variety
• Treats (always a win!)
• Water (for you too!)

Optional, but encouraged:

• Something meaningful (a ribbon, heirloom piece, old photo, etc)
• A second outfit if you want a different vibe

Participation Rate & What's Included

Participation in Wild Runs Deep is offered at a significantly reduced project rate of $150.

*Please note - this is not about making money for me, but keeping things sustainable. If the fee is something that will deter you, or if it hinders your ability to participate, please let me know.

This rate reflects the personal, artist - led nature of the project and is offered well below standard portrait or commercial photography pricing. The fee supports the time, creative direction, and artistic labor involved in planning, photographing , editing, and archiving of each session, and allows the project to exist sustainably.

You will receive a gallery of up to 15 final edited images, carefully selected to reflect the story, connection, and overall feel of the Wild Runs Deep series.

Because this project is documentary in nature, images are edited with a true - to - life approach. Edits are kept simple and intentional, focusing on color, light, and overall balance, with minor clean - ups such as temporary blemishes or stray flyaway hairs when needed. This series does not include heavy body modifications, skin texture alteration, or heavy retouching. The goal is to preserve what is real, honest, and lived in - allowing the images to reflect you as you are, not a polished or altered version.

The participation fee does not constitute a commercial photography fee or work - for - hire arrangement. Images are created primarily for inclusion in the Wild Runs Deep series.

• Payment is due at booking to reserve participation.
• You'll recieve your final gallery within 6 weeks of your session.

Image Use

You are absolutely welcome to:

• Download your images
• Post them online
• Print them for yourself, home, or family
• Use them as profile photo, personal posts, etc

Images may not be used for:

• Business branding or promotion
• Advertisements or paid campaigns
• Selling products/services
• Anything profit-generating.

If you ever want to use an image commercially, just reach out and we'll keep it easy and straightforward.

Ask About Super 8

In addition to still photography, Super 8 film is available as an add-on for Wild Runs Deep at an additional, discounted rate.

Super 8 is a vintage motion picture film known for its warmth, texture, and unmistakable sense of nostalgia. The grain, soft movement, and imperfect beauty of film create something deeply emotional and timeless - the kind of imagery that feels more like a memory than a video.

Super 8 works beautifully alongside this project, capturing the quiet in-between moments: brushing your horse, walking the barn aisle, dust in the air, hands in motion. It adds a living, breathing layer to the story that still images alone can't always hold.
